Class Descriptions
Our Toddler Class, for children 2 years through 3 years of age, is constructed to promote the child's social, emotional and cognitive development. The program allows the children plenty of free play, art experiences, and includes a strong music base. The children are gently supervised and our staff stands ever ready to offer cuddles when necessary. Staff to Student Ratio: 1 to 3.5
Our Tween Class, for children 2 & 1/2 and young 3's, offers an opportunity for young children who may not yet be toilet trained, but advanced enough to experience a simplified preschool program. The program uses manipulative toys to promote coordination, patience, sharing and working together with other children. There is a strong music base which helps strengthen language development, creativity, social interaction and memory. Staff to Student Ratio: 1 to 4
Our Preschool 3 Class is a stepping stone from our play-based Toddler program (children must be potty trained). We encourage the children to gain more independence as their confidence increases. The day consists of different centers (art, free play, music, carpet time, etc.) which the children rotate between. Story time and music time are both highlights, and change to suit the seasons and the holidays. These centers help the children learn to follow directions as well as adapt to a more structured classroom for the years to come. Staff to Student Ratio: 1 to 6
Our Pre-Kindergarten Class offers a unit approach to study. The children study the colors, shapes, and senses, but may also study a far away place, architecture, or insects. The children are allowed to experiment with a vast number of art media. Story time and music time are both highlights, and change to suit the seasons and the holidays. The program includes a broad spectrum of kindergarten readiness activities to include an early introduction to the "Handwriting Without Tears curriculum". Staff to Student Ratio: 1 to 7
